A Mission in San Antonio, part of life Around Texas

Welcome to the News and Information Hub (origionally Around Texas). I’ve changed the name and thrust of the page because nothing ever happens in a vacuum. While my primary focus is on life and events that take place in Texas, (after all i am a Texas Historian and a descendant of one of Austin’s Original 300), there’s a lot of life going on everywhere.

This is the hub page where you will find news articles and posts that are directly related to life. Not only to those issues which are current, but which also have affected our past. The past is what laid the foundation for who we are today. While our focus in mostly on rural Texas sometimes are urban cousins and neighboring states will do something that we might find interesting.

It’s important to understand that Texas isn’t just a place—it’s a way of life and a state of mind. From the rolling plains and dense piney woods to the bustling cities and quiet desert towns, the Lone Star State is as diverse as the people who call it home.

Oh and we don’t dislike the word ‘diverse’ Texas is diverse and we like it that way This page and the articles you will find is dedicated to capturing the essence of life in and around Texas—its culture, history, and the everyday experiences that make it unique. Whether it’s stories of old-time ranchers, the latest food trends in Austin, or small-town traditions that have stood the test of time, we aim to bring you the heart and soul of Texas, one story at a time.

Through articles, personal narratives, and local insights, we’ll explore what it truly means to be Texan. From the iconic cowboy heritage to the modern innovations shaping the state’s future, we’ll cover the people, places, and events that make Texas unforgettable. Whether you’re a lifelong resident, a newcomer, or just someone who loves the Texas spirit, this is your place to experience the state in all its richness.
